Z-Flex Shadow Lurker Drop Through Longboard | 41"

Blacked out, low and ready to chew up the kilometres.

The Shadow Lurker Drop Through is a full-blackout longboard: black deck, black graphic, black hardware and black wheels, a nod to the darker, edgier side of the Z-Boys. It's Z-Flex's 41.5" drop-through, built for riders who want speed and stability. It suits commuters, distance pushers and beginners who want a confident, easy board.

The trucks mount through the deck, so it sits low with a wide 31" wheelbase. That low centre of gravity handles everything from faster hills to mellow footpath cruising. It runs Z-Flex 45° 180mm reverse kingpin trucks, powder-coated, and soft 69mm 83A longboard wheels that roll smoothly over rough ground. Printed grip keeps your feet planted.

About Z-Flex

Z-Flex is one of skateboarding's original brands. It was started in 1976 by Kent Sherwood, Jay Adams's stepfather, a fibreglass craftsman who had been building boards for the Zephyr team in Dogtown, the Santa Monica and Venice Beach stretch of the California coast. When Sherwood split from Zephyr he took Jay Adams and a handful of Z-Boys with him under the name EZ-Ryder, and within six months the brand became Z-Flex.

Z-Flex lays claim to the first skateboard with a concave top and to a smoother-riding wheel that helped shape the soft wheels most riders use today. Its current range still draws straight from that history: the P.O.P, Ruins to Roses, Banana Train, Surf-a-gogo and Aragon Cheetah series all take their stories from Pacific Ocean Park and the Dogtown scene. Riders choose Z-Flex for easy-riding cruisers, longboards and surfskates with real heritage, set up to be fun from the first push.

FAQs

What is the Z-Flex Shadow Lurker Drop Through best for?
Commuting, distance pushing and relaxed cruising. The low drop-through deck makes pushing and foot-braking easy, and the long wheelbase keeps it calm at speed. Soft 69mm wheels handle rough footpaths.

Is a 41" longboard the right size for me?
It suits most teens and adults, and it's especially good for taller riders and anyone who wants maximum stability. At 41.5" long and about 9" wide with a long 31" wheelbase, it's a roomy, planted platform. If you want something easier to carry and carvier, a 39.5" Z-Flex roundtail or 38" pintail is more compact.

Is the Shadow Lurker Drop Through good for beginners?
Yes. The drop-through mount lowers the deck, so it's easier to balance, push and foot-brake, and the long wheelbase is very stable. It's one of the easiest board types to learn on.

What's the difference between drop-through and top-mount?
On a drop-through like the Shadow Lurker Drop Through, the trucks mount through cutouts in the deck, so the board sits lower to the ground. That makes it more stable at speed and easier to push and foot-brake over long distances. A top-mount board sits higher on its trucks, which gives more leverage for carving and a more responsive, surfy feel.

Can I commute on the Shadow Lurker Drop Through?
Yes, it's one of the best board types for it. The low deck makes pushing easy over distance, and the soft 69mm wheels handle cracks and rough footpaths. The trade-off is size: at 41.5" it's bulky to carry on crowded public transport.

Does it come ready to ride?
Yes. It arrives fully assembled with griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings installed. Just check the truck tightness suits you and go ride.
