Installation Steps
Step 1: Position the Starter: Place the new starter in the correct location in the engine bay, ensuring that the mounting surface and locating tabs (for radial positioning) of the starter are in good contact with the mounting surface of the engine block or transmission, free of oil and rust.
Step 2: Mount the Starter: Secure the starter to the engine or transmission using the appropriate bolts. Tighten the bolts evenly in a criss-cross pattern to avoid misalignment.
Step 3: Connect Wiring:
Step 4: Apply Grease: Apply a suitable amount of grease to the bearings and sliding parts of the starter to reduce wear and improve efficiency.
Step 5: Adjust Clearances (if necessary): Adjust the length of the adjustable bolts to ensure the gap between the limit nut and the drive wheel is within the specified range (e.g., 1-4 mm) for precise starter operation.
