This rare 1929 French edition of "Fleur de Neige et D'Autres Contes de Grimm" is limited to 2400 copies-this being no. 671. It's illustrated by the famous Golden Age illustrator Kay Nielsen who provides 12 gorgeous mounted plates in intensely vibrant colors, all displayed behind tissue guards, and some beautifully ornate head and tailpieces designed by Pierre Courtois for this edition ( treats that are absent in the English edition). Written by Jacob & Wilhelm Grimm, the book was translated by Charles Guyot and published by L'Edition de Art in Paris, and is presented here in its original black on tan pictorial wrapper. An amazing find for the Nielsen or fairy tale collector.

This book contains twelve of the twenty-two fairy tales found in the English edition, including: Fleur-de-Neige (Snowdrop), Hansel et Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Cerise ou La Grenouille Mariée (Cherry, or The Frog Bride), Le Pêcheur et sa Femme (The Fisherman and His Wife), Rose-d'Épine (Rosebud), La Gardeuse d'Oies (The Goose Girl), Noir-de-Fumée (Catskin), Saute-Menu (Rumpelstiltskin), Le Vaillant Petit Tailleur (The Valiant Little Tailor), Les Cygnes Blancs (The Six Swans), Le Genévrier (The Juniper Tree), and Les Deux Frères (The Two Brothers).

This book measures about 12 inches tall by 9 inches wide.  Pleasebe awarethe binding is in really rough shape as shown by the pictures. Besides that the plates are clean and accounted for, with tissue guards, many of which are foxed.
