Mint condition. I purchased the Young Innocence collector's plates directly from the Danbury Mint for $240 when the series was first released. I have kept the plates carefully stored for the past 30 years. The original Certificates of Authenticity are included for 7 of the 8 plates, as well as the Certificate of Registration for the collection. Just for Mom was damaged in transit and I purchased a replacement to complete the collection.

Included in this collection of porcelain collector plates trimmed in 23kt gold are the following 8 plates in the Young Innocence series by Kathy Lawrence:

First Friends shows a sweet baby laying in her cradle tucked beneath a pink blanket. Her “friends” Raggedy Ann and Andy sit opposite her with smiles on their faces and their arms held wide in friendship. In the background are a rocking horse, jack-in-the-box, rubber ducky, blocks, a doll and a walrus stuffed animal.

Look at You shows Mom and Baby smiling at their reflections in the mirror. Baby’s auburn hair is a perfect match with Mom’s. Baby’s blue eyes sparkle and she grins as she gazes at her reflection. She is dressed in a towel, fresh from the bathtub. Mom’s smiling face shows her delight with Baby. In the background is a vase of daisies, a couple baby pins, and jars with cotton balls and cotton swabs.

Squeezing In portrays big brother with his teddy bear joining in with Mom and Baby for some love and cuddles. Baby is dressed in yellow pajamas, big brother is wearing white footed pajamas and holding his teddy bear, and Mom is wearing a long white nightgown and dark blue bathrobe. Mom is seated on a wooden chair in the nursery with Baby is her arms and big brother leaning across her lap. She has one arm around Baby and the other reaches out to extend the family hug to her older child.

Friendly Inspection depicts Baby's first introduction to a cocker spaniel puppy. The two are poised eye-to-eye, nose-to-nose and you can only imagine that the puppy's little tail must be wagging a mile a minute as she sniffs Baby. Baby is dressed in a white t-shirt and aqua blue overalls. The puppy has a matching aqua blue ribbon tied around his neck. Daddy is dressed in a yellow shirt and is gently holding the puppy back so that he doesn't jump up on the baby.

Bedtime Prayers depicts a sweet toddler boy and his teddy bear saying their prayers before climbing into bed. The little boy is dressed in white footed pajamas and his golden bear has a bright blue ribbon tied around his neck. They are kneeling side-by-side by the edge of the bed. Teddy has his paws together in prayer and a small smile on his face. The little boy has his hands clasped together and is peeking over at teddy to make sure he's ready to say his prayers.

Just for Mom depicts a sweet baby dressed in yellow holding an armful of yellow daffodils and purple flowers that have been picked as a gift for Mom. The baby has golden hair and blue eyes. There is a little smile lighting up Baby's face while waiting to surprise Mom with the flowers chosen just for her. Baby is barefoot and the toes on the right foot are curled in anticipation.

Baby's Keys memorialize a young baby with dark hair and bright blue eyes who is holding his first pair of toy keys. With a firm grasp on the ring with his left hand, Baby is mesmerized with moving the brightly colored keys with his right hand. A small white teddy bear is at Baby’s side. Baby is resting on a white lacy pillow and is tucked in with a pale blue blanket.

Read Me a Story features the same little boy and teddy bear as Bedtime Prayers. In this scene, the little boy is ''reading'' his favorite picture book to his teddy bear. The little boy is dressed in white footed pajamas. He is seated in front of the fireplace with a picture book in his lap. Teddy is seated beside him and the little boy has a protective arm around Teddy's back. The little boy is pointing out the picture of the lamb in the book and no doubt explaining the story to Teddy.
