The Beast (1970) aka Equinox, a rare horror / monster movie released by Wizard Video. Super collectable and highly sought after for early use of stop motion animatronics. Cut box clamshell.
Seeking an archaeologist who has mysteriously disappeared, Dave, Susan, Jim and Vicki discover a weird castle in the hills surrounded by strange, gigantic footprints. In a nearby cave, the teenagers meet an odd old man who gives them an ancient book containing the lore and rituals of Devil Worship. The hapless foursome soon find themselves pursued by a 30-foot-tall apelike mutant intent on seizing the Book. The creature is defeated-but the teenagers now face a new nemesis-a fearsome blue giant. When the giant carries Jim and the Book through a supernatural barrier into its own bizarre dimension, Dave must follow in a desperate attempt to rescue his friend. What follows is a spectacular adventure of unearthly power, featuring stop-motion animation by renowned effects wizards Dennis Muren, David Allen, and Jim Danforth.
