Hotel Wilkes Barre
Billhead

Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania
June 26th 1906

This is a rare antique billhead from the Hotel Wilkes Barre on South Pennsylvania Ave in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania.
It was for a W.H. Jackson who stayed at the hotel in June 1906.
Giles F. Viele was the owner of this hotel and just a few months earlier on March 7th this same Giles Viele was on the Lehigh Valley Railroad passenger train known as Flyer #1 when it hit a wagon load of dynamite that was stuck at the crossing at Warrior Run. Despite the huge explosion there were no fatalities.

The receipt measures about  5 5/8" x 7" with some folds and is in good condition.

A great item for any collection of historical memorabilia from Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania.
