Epiphone made in Japan with Gibson head!
So-called Epiphone Japan model with the same head shape as Gibson, made in Japan. This is the model after Orville that lasted for many years. This one is probably made in 1999.
Plain maple top & mahogany back, deep-jointed mahogany neck. Rosewood fingerboard with thicker frets with original overbinding.
There are overall signs of use and damage such as picking scratches, dents, and chipped paint from the body to the neck. Also, the strap pin position has been changed and the pick guard is missing. The hardware shows age-appropriate deterioration such as tarnishing and corrosion of the plating, but there are no operational problems at present. The neck is in good condition, but the truss rod has only a little remaining in the tightening direction. There are no noticeable string marks on the frets, and the remaining fret length is about 70%. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.
The number of Epiphone models with Chinese-made Gibson heads has been increasing in recent years.
Neck condition is currently fine.
The truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen.
Only about 70% frets left.
