Bach Omega TB 200

S.N.  A 28651

.525 bore

8" bell

This is an intermediate level horn produced post-2010 under the Bach brand name, now owned by Conn-Selmer. It is a modern, mass produced, American-made horn. While not as highly reputed as older Vincent Bach makes, these modern horns serve well as student horns or gigging horns for working musicians.

This is a good-playing medium bore trombone. While it has the appearance of a large bore horn, it does still take a small bore mouthpiece. All the components are in working order - the tuning slides both pull out, the f-trigger is smooth, spit valve and slide lock are operational.

The main slide is just okay. It has a catch near 2nd/3rd position. Otherwise, it's smooth. Dry / without slide lubrication, that spot is rough enough to keep the slide from free-falling off. When lubricated the slide does free-fall off, both vertically and at a 45 degree angle. By my own standards, the lubricated slide works smoothly enough to use this horn as-is in performance settings. It will need a slide job to get back to 100%.

The horn has cosmetic damage, including scuffs, scrapes, and pitting throughout the whole horn. The bell section has a few notable spots with lacquer loss and subsequent corrosion. There is a notable dent in the slide crook, although I don't particularly feel it when playing. There are no other notable dents - most of the wear and tear is aesthetic.

This would be a good horn for a high school marching band student, or perhaps a small bore community band player looking for something bigger without having to go up to a large bore horn. With a deeper mouthpiece it does have that dark, round, orchestral sound.

Comes with case, and can include mouthpiece if desired. Message me! Check my listings for MP options.
