Just a fabulous way to display almost anything. A genuine Kentucky Trail Bourbon Barrel Stave. The char is removed. Then overall sanded and multiple coats of a clear polyurethane coating applied. Behind the stave a piece of solid red oak [painted black] forms the shelf. The shelf is coated again with clear poly after assembly. The base shelf simply does not have either the “Trident” or the “Scroll” adornment.
Mounting hardware is included [for all variations] to provide what is essentially a “floating shelf” appearance. Special self-drilling wall screws are provided to attach each bracket to either a steel or wooden wall stud. It is not recommended to attach this shelf directly to drywall as it would be far less secure and make wall repairs extensive after removal. Simply choose your location, attach the two brackets to any two wall studs and then place the shelf on the brackets and install small screws to secure the shelf to the brackets.
Please remember that all bourbon barrel staves vary widely in color. From nearly black to vey pale which is all due to the barrel aging process.
The trident addition is a casting [approx 6 1/2” tall] and removed for shipping and simple to re-attach.
The scroll is an iron casting [approx 5 1/4” tall] and is shipped completely as shown.
Both attachments are painted black.
