This listing is for a pre‑owned Extron MPX 423 A matrix switcher in good working condition. We have powered it up, cycled through all inputs and outputs, and confirmed that video and audio switch smoothly. The unit has some minor rack rash but nothing that affects performance.

The MPX 423 A is a multi‑format matrix switcher that combines four independent switchers in one compact 1‑RU chassis . It functions as a 4×2 VGA switcher, a 4×2 composite video switcher, a 4×2 S‑video switcher, and a 12×2 audio matrix  . This allows you to route up to four sources (computer graphics, composite video, and S‑video) to two simultaneous display outputs, while the audio matrix can send any of twelve audio inputs to either of two outputs. Balanced and unbalanced audio connectors are provided via 5‑pole Phoenix blocks.

Front‑panel buttons make it easy to select inputs and outputs, with “Single” and “Separate” modes for group or individual switching. Rear‑panel connections include two HD‑15 outputs for computer video, BNC connectors for composite video, S‑video mini‑DINs, and multiple blue Phoenix connectors for audio. The unit supports RS‑232 and Ethernet control (not tested) and features a security lockout function. It mounts in a single rack space and is ideal for conference rooms, classrooms, and AV racks .
