This pair of whimsical hippos are crafted in Indonesia of heavy cast metal, possibly bronze or cast iron.  They are dark brown, almost black, with an aged bronze patina finish. The flower-shaped cups on their backs serve as taper candle holders or incense holders. Each hippopotamus is 4.75" long, 2" wide, 3" high, and weighs 15 ounces. They are lovingly pre-owned, but in good condition, with the rustic irregularities of hand crafted art--however there is one foot of one hippo that is missing some toes--please see the photos.
