Impressionist painter, Ruth Ann Younglove (1909 - 2002.) This artwork depicts the famous waterfall at Eaton Canyon Falls Trail
in Pasadena, California, and likely dates to the 1940's - early 1950's. This wonderful painting is rendered with soft, delicate brush strokes and a subdued and naturalistic color palette. Signed: "Ruth Anne Younglove" in the lower right corner. Additionally, t
here are two old exhibition labels affixed to the verso of the frame. The first one reads: “Pasadena Society of Artists Exhibition, Ruth Anne Younglove, WATERFALL, $200.” The second label reads: “Ruth Ann Younglove Loxley, 1180 Yecum St, Pasadena 3, California. PAINTING & WEAVING, Waterfall, $200.”
Approximately 19 1/8 x 37 1/8 inches (including frame.) Actual visible artwork is approximately 10 3/4 x 28 3/4 inches. Good overall condition for nearly a century of age and storage, with some mild spots of splotchiness and discoloration to the original matting material inside the frame (
