Genuine CODA handlebars stem. CODA was the name that Cannondale made for its own line of components, Some people says that CODA stands for "Cannondale Original Design Accessories" and others "Cannondale-Only, Design Application", I tend to think the latter is more accurate. The CODA range production went from 1993 to 2000, so this stem is one of the latest made. From the 2000s, Cannondale just named its components "Cannondale" which is not as cool in my opinion!
Being from the late 90s, this stem represents somehow the last iteration of quill stem evolution. On the 2000s road bikes went for fully ahead construction and quill stems not longer developed for the mass market. It is fully constructed in aluminium, and welded, rather than cast or forged as it was common in the past. Looks great with the chunky welds, the CODA logo proudly showing on the sides and a nice bright black finish.
Overall a nice stem, hard to find, great quality, and with cool looks. A good addition for any suitable bike of the era but of course a perfect match for a vintage Cannondale road bike if you are lucky enough to have one.
Condition is good overall. Structurally seems solid and straight.. There are some marks, scratches, etc. as normal in a stem this vintage. Biggest blemish are some zig-zag scratches on the left side from removing the stem, but they will be mostly unseen when stem is fitted on the bike. CODA logos are in surprisingly good condition, as these tend to fade with time. Please study all the pictures, they are part of the description.

I do my best to list the items accurately and to provide plenty of quality pictures. Please read the description thoroughly and study the pictures before buying. Pics are part of the description.
Items are checked before being put for sale to make sure that they work as intented (unless listed for spares). Please note that most of them are a few decades old vintage parts, so things can go wrong sometimes. I got an excellent record of happy customers using my parts for many miles with no problem. However it is your responsability that they are properly fitted and working well before riding the bike. No liability is accepted for personal injuries or material damage related to the use of the parts.
