This volume has two of Victor Hugo's significant political works:
The History of a Crime: This is a historical account written by Hugo about the 1851 coup d'état by which Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (nephew of Napoleon I) seized power and became Emperor Napoleon III. Hugo, an eyewitness to these events, wrote this powerful testimony while in exile.
Napoleon the Little: This is a scathing satire
and political pamphlet written by Hugo in 1852, also while in exile.
The book is a fierce attack on Napoleon III, whom Hugo viewed as a
criminal and a traitor to the French Republic.
Good Condition: Has been read
but is in good condition. Some wear to the edges cover. No
missing or damaged pages, and no underlining/highlighting of text or
writing in the margins. No identifying marks on the
inside cover. Some wear and tear on the cover and spine edges.
See the pictures for full details, they are part of the description.
