This painting is inspired by Lewis Carrol's work "Alice in Wonderland" and explores the narrative in art with surreal and humorous overtones.

As far as I can gather, it was painted circa 2011 or possibly some time before.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jo Tuck was born in a small town in Australia and studied fine art at Sydney University before going to London and completing a postgraduate course at the Croydon College of Art in London.

She worked as a film editor for the BBC and in films , working on many of Richard Attenborough films, before deciding to take up art full time. Jo Tuck lives with her partner Paul in Twickenham when they are not travelling to favourite destinations like Paris and Australia and New York.


Working in both feature film and TV, she has always been an artist, and is a descendant of the famous Marie Tuck who travelled the world before settling in Adelaide. Buddhism and the search for truth in a changing world have been a constant theme. She is currently living in Forest Hills New York and also has a studio in Twickenham London.

VALUE OF HER WORK

This is a painting being offered for sale from her "Alice in Wonderland" series, which was the most successful to date in terms of original sales values (around £1,500  -  £2,500).

AUTHENTICITY

Because it is not signed, I contacted the Artist, Jo Tuck several years ago asking her if she recognised the painting as hers to which she replied it was by her.
