So much for the AI description.
The lens is in very good condition, regardless of age, and has a rear lens cap only - it is fitted with a dedicated lens hood.
This is a very good example of a lens with quite a fine reputation anyway.  This lens was made before East and West Germany reunited and so is a combination of Carl Zeiss lens design and Meyer-Optik Gorlitz body style, manufactured in Dresden in "Communist" Germany. The process resulted in a slightly old fashioned design but of very good quality at a low (subsidised?) price.
What we have here is a prime telephoto lens with manual preset aperture control, f4 down to f22, and fairly close, but not macro, focusing, just under 8 feet.  I fitted the lens to my Sony A7Rii, via the Sony EA-LA4 Alpha to E-Mount adaptor and an M42-Sony Alpha adaptor, and was impressed by the sharpness.
This lens can be used, as is, on any Pentax/Praktica screw mount film camera, on any Pentax/Ricoh bayonet mount film cameras via an M42/Pentax bayonet adaptor, and any on Pentax/Ricoh digital cameras via the M42 adaptor.  It can also be used on almost any make of camera, film or digital, via an M42 to your brand adaptor.
