The Ibanez S series is a pioneer of thin body guitars, with a body that draws an arch on both the top and back and molds the edges as thin as possible.

With that concept, the JCS, which will be unveiled as the 2025 model of With a difference j.custom, is a top-of-the-line model that is worthy of talking about the ultimate custom guitar, completed without any limitations from the body design to the selection of wood and the installed hardware.
The master builder, who has been supporting j.custom for over 20 years since its early days, is in charge of asymmetrical neck shaping, fret edge treatment, and generous use of selected wood, and everything from the processing that can be shown in the specifications column to basic woodworking is consistently produced.

■Burl Maple /2pc Honduras Mahogany body
For the body back material, which supports the foundation of the sound, which is important for the S body, which is extremely thin at the edges, selected mahogany wood from Honduras in Central America is used. It is characterized by a sweet and sticky tone and mid-low range characteristics, and is a top-quality wood material that has long been well-known as a body material for solid guitars.

■Selected Ebony fingerboard w/Tree of Life position inlay
The fingerboard is made of ebony, which is hard and has good sound rise. The inlay also uses tree of life, which has become an icon of j.custom. It shines beautifully against the dark color of the fingerboard.

■Jumbo Stainless Steel Fret
Jumbo-sized stainless steel frets are used. They are easy to maintain, have a fast sound rise, good separation when playing chords, and produce a clear sound when playing notes.

■j.custom fret edge treatment
This is a custom treatment that rounds the edges like a sphere. It takes skill to make the edges spherical, and only skilled craftsmen can do this processing, which is done carefully by hand one by one. You will surely feel the smooth feeling that is free from stress when you change the position of your left hand.

■Asymmetric ULTRA 3pc Wenge/Purpleheart neck
In addition to the exquisite thinness that embodies the Ibanez character of the TOP model, the size allows you to feel the roundness of the neck firmly, and the neck is shaped into an asymmetric shape with the apex of the semicircle on the back of the neck moved slightly from the center to the 6th string side, aiming to improve both the grip when gripping and quick fingering. It also features a matte-finished neck back that feels like velvet in your hand. The 3-piece neck, which is made of hard purpleheart wood sandwiched between the Wenge, is painted black, and the body sides and back are finished in a chic black color.

■Set-in neck construction
The set-in neck joint ensures seamless connection between the body and neck, and high playability in the high fret range. The body back is finished in gloss (glossy), and the neck back is finished in matte (non-glossy).

■DiMarzio(R) Pickups
The neck position is equipped with an Air Norton that features a clear and warm sound, the middle position is equipped with a True Velvet that features a bright and noiseless sound, and the bridge position is equipped with The Tone Zone that features a balanced output from high to low ranges and a powerful sound.

■Lo-Pro Edge tremolo bridge
Equipped with the original tremolo, Lo-Pro Edge, which has an extremely low-profile design. The unit is designed to be as low as possible and the fine tuners are placed at the rear to reduce the possibility of the tuning going out of tune due to the hands touching them while playing. The pegs are equipped with locking pegs from GOTOH(R), a Japanese brand known by guitar builders around the world for their precision and reliability.

This model was unveiled at Sound Messe in Osaka in 2025, and due to the wood used, only a very limited number of them will be produced.
