This is an Antique PENN SCALE Cast Iron and Brass Balance Scale, dating from the early 1900s and made in Lancaster, PA. This balance scale is typical of those that would have been used in bakeries, hardware stores, general stores, and even candy shops. It has a white cast iron base with a flat circular plate on one side, a removable brass scoop on the other and features a weight adjuster in the middle which can weigh up to 16 lbs without added weight. The scale would made a lovely decor or display piece and it has a rich, aged patina. The fully assembled scale measures approximately 15" long x 14.75" wide x 9.5" tall and is in excellent vintage pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks. The brass scoop has light denting commensurate with age, which only adds to it's character and patina. Overall, the piece has a wonderful aged patina. Please see pictures for details.

All items sold are pre-owned and may show normal signs of age and/or use. Any further condition issues (chips, cracks, excessive crazing) will be specifically mentioned. Please check pictures carefully and ask any questions before buying/bidding.
