'DRUM, Africa's Leading Magazine'; this is a poster of the cover of the June 1956 issue, featuring a trio of young jazz musicians playing with joy and energy. It is an Original Offset Lithographic poster on paper, c. mid to late 20th C. One is seated at the piano, the second is playing the saxophone and last on a standing bass. 'Drum' was a South African weekly magazine founded in 1951. Initially called 'The African Drum', in the 1950's and 60's it was an important chronicler of black political and social life, and covered many of the major anti-apartheid protests and events.
3/8" Wide, sealed Silver metal moulding and glazing are included.
Outside of frame measures 24 X 33 1/2 and is in Very Good Vintage condition.
