Vintage fold-out 1946 Conoco road map of Oregon.

  • It opens to 18" x 24" and has great detail on old highway alignments and route numbers, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.

  • It identifies road surfaces and locates American Red Cross First Aid Stations, fish hatcheries, fossil beds, and towns where only Conoco Nth Motor Oil is sold.

  • On the reverse side there are inset plans of Portland and Crater Lake National Park, along with a map of the Columbia River Highway — from Bridal Veil Bridge to the Dalles.

  • The map was distributed by the Continental Oil Company in 1946 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: T-3. The code number on the back cover is 3461. Population data is from the 1940 census.

  • There's a full panel ad featuring Conoco's circus elephant with the slogan "Mileage you'll never forget."

  • Condition:  This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no rips, tears, or writing. Be sure to take a look at the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
