The loco and cars are used. The hand rails on the tank car are missing. Some other detailing may be missing. There are various cosmetic blemishes, scuffs, etc, but overall is in great shape. Some of the original packaging material is damaged.

The locomotive is equipped with loco-sounds, but not smoke. The caboose has a smoke unit built in! It takes a while to heat up, but it smokes as seen in the listing video. It is a "seuthe" style smoke unit, not fan driven.
