The wonderfully vivid movie poster for the French new wave film Jules and Jim, starring Jeanne Moreau, showing the two main characters frolicking on a bed and surviving from 1962 and presented in a contemporary glazed frame.
The poster is in good condition overall and has been displayed in a quality glazed frame for many years now which would cost upwards of £300. It has never been folded. There is a small area to the upper flank that has some faint crinkling.
Jules and Jim was the biggest box-office success the French New Wave ever enjoyed. When it opened in Paris in January 1962, it played for nearly three months and it found the same crowds all over the world. In the carefree days before World War I, introverted Austrian author Jules (Oskar Werner) strikes up a friendship with the exuberant Frenchman Jim (Henri Serre). Both men fall for the impulsive and beautiful Catherine (Jeanne Moreau), but it's Jules who wins her hand. After the war, Jim visits Jules, Catherine and their daughter in their Austrian home and discovers not only that his feelings for Catherine are unchanged, but also that they're reciprocated.
This is a dramatic and bold piece of vintage artwork for a bittersweet ode to romantic idealism.

Postage & Shipping
- We are pleased to be able to offer free packing, shipping, and insurance on every piece we send to UK mainland. If you live outside this area then feel free to contact us prior to any purchase for a personal shipping quotation. Once we have your specific location we will then be able to provide a quote for you to confirm, before we ship.
- We use Mail Boxes Etc to professionally ship, insure and package our wares over 5kgs. Below this weight we use Royal Mail Special delivery. Next day delivery services are naturally available with both carriers, with a two-day service being the standard.
- All items will be shipped the same day or the next working day, from receiving the order (assuming all credit checks are cleared).
- We will notify you as soon as the item has been shipped with any tracking numbers available.
- If paying by credit card, we can only ship to the billing address of that card. However with some credit card companies you can add extra addresses to your account to enable the shipping to a third party or business address.
- We comprehensively insure all items until the item is received or signed for.
