Update!  20SEP2025 I have located a Euro style CR-2040 wood case (slim style).  The original US-spec (larger) wooden case is badly damaged, split at a joint, but can also be included at the buyer's request (plus additional shipping).

J251.     Some minor corrosion of the dial scale in a couple spots.  Case has some normal signs of use.  A couple of the front knobs have marks.  May or may not be the original feet.

My intention while repairing this receiver was to keep it as stock as possible while trying to make it work as well as possible.

Repairs:

  - Replaced transistors for neg. bias supply

  - Re-soldered cold joints in the preamp

  - Replaced noisy diff. pair in left amp

  - Replaced corroded protection relay

  - Deoxit Tuner knob to fix touch sensor

Preventative:

  - Replaced cap in neg. bias supply

  - Replaced fusistor in left and right amps

  - Replaced diff. pair in right amp

  - Re-soldered preamp power resistors

  - Replaced two caps in the preamp

  - Re-soldered phono section power resistors

Service:

  - adjusted +/- regulated bias power supplies

  - calibrated meters

  - adjusted amp bias and offset

  - aligned FM tuner

  - aligned AM tuner

  - replaced FM dial pointer bulb

  - MC phono distortion set

  - phono select switch cleaned

If a particular function is not specifically mentioned, it has not been tested. 

Routine service like contact cleaning (Deoxit), bulbs, and washing / polishing are up to the buyer.  It wasn't done unless necessary for repair.
