Note: Some of the Pueblo tribes have a history that states giant reptiles lived long ago, and though very rare were once seen in their ancient history. Is this a myth, or were there still a few dinosaurs, that had lingered longer than scientists believe-who knows? 3.5 by 4 inches
Incredible wood fired micaceous clay pot. Carvings on top rim. From Taos Indian Pueblo in New Mexico. Clay containing sparkling flecks of mica is naturally occurring near the Taos Pueblo. Traditionally it was used for cooking pots because the mica acts as a temper to reduce thermal shock and thus helps to prevent cracking.
The Taos Indian Pueblo is over 1,000 years old. There are very few Native American Taos Indians living in the Taos Pueblo, perhaps only 150 or so. The entire tribal population of Taos Indians is believed to be about 4,500 with many living in the area outside the Pueblo. It is one of the original 8 American Indian Pueblo Tribes.
A good part of the year the Pueblo is closed to outsiders. I was lucky enough to be permitted to enter the Pueblo, and as such, was allowed to meet some of the people living there that made various pottery and Silver Jewelry, and purchase a few items (please see my other Ebay listings).
It will be well packed and shipped for fast safe arrival to you.
Thank you.
