Wonderful vintage original 'Certificate' Imperium Neptune Regis Solemn Mysteries of the Ancient Order of the Deep awarded to US Navy Sailor G? A. Clay on Feb. 19, 1937, for crossing Equator while serving aboard the USS Cummings (365) signed by Commander C.P. Cecil. Measures 20 x 15" on thick stock parchment type paper it is wrapped which obscures photos a bit but we are not removing it. Charles P. Cecil (1893-1944) was Commander at the time but eventually became Rear Admiral Cecil during WW2. He was killed in a plane crash. The Cummings (a Destroyer) was at Pearl Harbor but was not hit and served throughout the War including Okinawa and Iwo Jima. This is a very cool WW2 and Navy collectible.
