Gently Stirred
Loose Leaf Tea
Vanilla Chai Spice Black Tea
This tea is made up
of a base of quality orange pekoe black tea, cinnamon pieces, cloves, red
peppercorns, pieces of ginger, whole cardamom, pieces of vanilla, and
cornflowers to make it look pretty. This lovely relaxing and warming tea brings
a pleasant feeling and has an intensity of spices that last for a long time.
Would also make a lovely, iced tea. Quite delightful. Chai is a Hindi word
simply meaning ‘Tea’ coming from the Chinese ‘Cha’ and is also found in the
Japanese ‘Cha’ as well. It has made it to England as in a ‘Cuppa Cha’. However,
in India it refers to a typical black cup of tea to which has been added
various spices. A slice of orange or seasonal kumquat would make a lovely
addition, and at Christmas, home-made mince pies would be the perfect
accompaniment to this delightful brew, and I think a cup left out for Santa
Claus on Christmas Eve, along with the mince pies and carrots for the reindeer
would ensure that you get the presents you deserve.
