To achieve the Second Class rank, Scouts must demonstrate higher proficiency in outdoor preparedness and camping skills, and must participate in at least five troop/patrol activities. Candidates for this rank must be able to lead hikes, demonstrate the proper use of camping tools, complete at least two overnight camping activities, perform basic first-aid, and exhibit an understanding of basic Scouting® principles.

This oval-shaped coin salutes all those who have earned the Second Class rank. The obverse features the Second Class Insignia. The reverse features a space for engraving. Struck in a brass alloy and brushed with an antique finish, this coin features rich enamel accents on both sides. Coins were shipped loose from the mint and have minor scuffing.
