Presented is a finely-executed aesthetic parcel gilt sterling silver oval center bowl on pedestal created by Whiting Mfg. Co. of North Attleboro, MA in a unique Islamic taste, circa 1875.
Inspired by Qur'anic illuminated manuscripts of the 15th and 16th centuries, the center bowl is elaborately decorated with layered bands of paterae, diamonds, and concentric ovals above ivy sprays and trefoil arched over a spreading stem and the base etched with Indian drapery swags.
Fine condition save for the expected age-wear, minor nick and bruises.
