This listing is for one physical Ludlum Model 3 survey meter configured with a Ludlum 44-9 pancake Geiger probe, compatible C-type cable, protective probe cover, batteries, fitted hard case, and the paperwork described below.

The Ludlum 44-9 is a thin-window pancake Geiger-Mueller detector used for alpha, beta, and gamma detection. It is widely used for contamination surveys, equipment screening, laboratory work, source checks, and general radiation detection.
This Model 3 is fitted with a µSv/h meter face and is calibrated for the supplied meter-and-probe configuration under the conditions documented in the included 2026 paperwork. The indicated value is useful for gamma survey work when the instrument is used as calibrated.
Like other unfiltered pancake GM probes, the 44-9 has an energy-dependent gamma response. Its µSv/h indication is not equally accurate for every gamma energy or isotope. The instrument does not identify radionuclides, and alpha or beta response should not be interpreted as a gamma dose-rate measurement.
An energy-compensation filter is not included unless it is specifically shown and stated. Broader-energy quantitative dose work requires an appropriate filter and calibration of the complete meter, probe, and filter assembly together.
The included paperwork identifies the exact instrument set and the work performed. Functional response testing is not isotope identification, and the scope of calibration is limited to what the supplied paperwork states.
These are used professional instruments and may show normal service wear such as scratches, scuffs, small dings, paint wear, or other cosmetic marks. Cosmetic wear does not affect the guaranteed operation of the set.
Before shipment, the assigned serial numbers are matched to the paperwork and the complete set is checked again. Additional photos of the exact assigned equipment can be provided when requested.
The meter, probe, and included cable are guaranteed to arrive functional and ready to use as described. The 1 year functional guarantee begins on the date of delivery.
The guarantee does not cover abuse, misuse, dropping, crushing, moisture intrusion, contamination, battery leakage, improper storage, unauthorized repair, tampering, modification, damage to the probe window, or damage caused by incompatible equipment.
