Does the job, but...
While this strainer DOES do a good job of filtering out particulate matter, it does have two shortcomings that I've encountered. First, the lack of a center handle makes it difficult to remove from the sink to empty. Second, there are stray wires sticking out at the juncture between the stainless rim and the mesh that have poked my finger while I was trying to remove the strainer from the sink drain.

Works really good
So far it is really good for catching food from going down the drain.
