Used in a serie of friendly games during 1968 year , one of them was at the Maracana stadium against the FIFA world teams which had Yashin, Beckenbauer, Overath, Pedro Rocha, this was the first shirt with stars worn worldwide. João Saldanha , Brazilian coach during the qualifiers to WC1970, banned the uniform. In 1970 Brasil won World cup and in 1971 debuted the new shirt with three stars.
