This Oracle Database 19c: Certified Associate - DBA & Developer (OCA)  - 1Z0-071, 1Z0-144 and 1Z0-082 is a CBT course bundled with a fully installed and configured Oracle Database 19c Virtual Machine software - VM Training Appliance - for practical hands-on training purposes. The VM - Virtual Machine - Training Appliance is a hands-on Lab designed to complement our Oracle DBA & Developer OCA CBT course; and is delivered in either Oracle Virtual Box (ova) or VMWare format.

The course takes the database developers and administrators beyond the basic tasks covered in the SQL, PL/SQL and Administration Workshop I. This course is designed to fully certify an individual in Oracle 19c. Students will learn about the new features in PL/SQL, the Oracle® features that support SQL99, and all features of the Oracle 19c database.

A virtual machine, commonly shortened to just VM, is no different than any other physical computer like a laptop, smart phone, or server. It has a CPU, memory, disks to store your files, and can connect to the internet if needed. While the parts that make up your computer (called hardware) are physical and tangible, VMs are often thought of as virtual computers or software-defined computers within physical servers, existing only as code.

While virtual machines run like individual computers with individual operating systems and applications, they have the advantage of remaining completely independent of one another and the physical host machine. A piece of software called a hypervisor, or virtual machine manager, lets you run different operating systems on different virtual machines at the same time. This makes it possible to run Linux VMs, for example, on a Windows OS, or to run an earlier version of Windows on more current Windows OS.

And, because VMs are independent of each other, they're also extremely portable. You can move a VM on a hypervisor to another hypervisor on a completely different machine almost instantaneously.

Requirements for the Virtual Machine Environment:

This hands-on lab runs in an Oracle VM VirtualBox environment. VirtualBox 6.1 is the minimum recommended Version.

In order to run the lab effectively you will need the following.

Minimum Hardware:

CPU: Dual-core CPU

Memory: 4+ GB RAM

Disk space:

20 GB for download of zip files

50 GB for expanded VM image

NOTE: If your hardware is near the minimums, you will need to adjust the virtual machine settings inside VirtualBox. 

Required Software:

Any 64-bit OS on which Oracle VirtualBox is available

Oracle VM VirtualBox 6.1 or later. Download the latest version from http://www.virtualbox.org

Also include the VirtualBox Extensions package. This is a separate download from the same location.
