19th. Century Dutch sterling silver snuff compact or pill box with hinged lid.

The ribbed circular shape box with plain medallion to one side has a monogram engraved on it that appears to be "W.d.V."

The box measures approximately:

diameter 5cm.; height 1,5cm.;

the total weight is 27 grams (0.95oz).

There are five stamps inside of the box :

- Lion passant mark over the #2 in a hexagon;

- Dutch hallmark with the Minerva head;

- two Maker's mark "89JN";

- the Letter "M" date mark indicates the manufacture year.

Condition is "PRE-OWNED." ...wear consistent with age and use. There are a few small dents and light uneven on the rim.
