President of the Obstetrical and Hunterian Societies.
Author of two standard textbooks, a Student's Guide to the Diseases of Women (1879), which achieved a sixth edition in 1903, and a Manual of Midwifery (1886).
To an unknown recipient.
It refers to Graham Hay Reynolds, later Captain GH Reynolds, Medical Officer of the Imperial Yeomanry, who saw service in the Boer Wars. He was born in Lewisham in 1864, married Herculena Hall in 1894, and had a daughter Violet in 1897. He would go on to work with many well known medical men, particularly at Guy's Hospital. I'm not sure if he survived the Second Boer War as I can't find references to him post 1900, but his wife and daughter lived on to 1945 and 1986 respectively.
