There can be few sites more indicitive of the British landscape than a majestic mature oak tree. Many of the oldest oaks on our isles have lived for centuries, dating back to the times of the Great fire of London or the English Civil War and beyond. Once the predominant woodland tree across Britain, many of our oak forests were harvested for their timber to be used in ship building.
One of our two native oaks, Q.robur is a haven for wildlife, supporting all sorts from birds to butterflies. The fimiliar lobed leaves are a fresh dark green during summer before turning golden brown in autumn, often remaining on the tree long into winter. The canopy is full and rounded in shape getting better and better as the decades go by. The fissured bark also provides textural appeal year round.
Given the great age and size oaks can reach they are naturally a choice for larger gardens and greenspaces, making a fantastic anvenue tree on estates. Our oak likes to get its roots down deep and grows well on any reasonable soil. Planting an oak now, who knows what they will see in the centuries to come. Fully hardy.

Shipping is free to UK (including Northern Ireland). Trees are dispatched within 24 hours of receiving payment. We use a quick and efficient 2-3 day courier service which is fully traceable.
