Vol. 11 is in acceptable condition with a wormhole through the middle (small at the front, larger towards the back - see our last three photos). Vol. 5 has a similar small hole at the head of the spine but the interior is not affected. There are minor patches of loss, various scuffs and scratches to the leather, cracks and loss to the spine decorations and volume labels, and several volumes have cracks forming along the joints. Each volume has the armorial bookplate of John Hopton Russell Chichester on the front pastedown. Vol. 1 has small pencil marks to several flyleaves at the front and back; Vol. 2 has a small pencil mark to the penultimate page. There's light foxing to some pages.
