- Max recommended filling temperature is approx 120F (49C). Filling with a solution that is too hot can warp the plastic & damage the mechanisms. Containers are not "watertight", so pouring too hot can also cause leaking (until the formulation solidifies).
- If the solution placed in them is too thick or pasty, the twist mechanism cannot freely move the product up and down.

A: Your formula has a high percentage of waxes and/or oils with high stearine content.
Q: When I try twisting down the lip balm separates from the mechanism, so it doesn’t go back down. What am I doing wrong?
A: This is oftentimes due to a very hard mixture in which the material breaks. Check your formula. If the lip balm becomes separated from the lifting disk then it can’t be brought back down unless you put pressure on the lip balm itself. A slight pressing with a finger is usually all it needs.
