Dōtai Shippō / ANDO Cloisonne Company Japanese framed ENAMEL on COPPER ' ROSES '. Produced during the SHOWA period/era. Very good to excellent condition and clean.

The ANDO Cloisonne Company has been making beautiful art on metals since 1880. ANDO are the Artisans to the Japanese Imperial Palace which displays thousands of their pieces in art and fixtures. ANDO's cloisonne art has been given as State gifts to hundreds of Countries Worldwide. Strict adherence to their quality standards have made them a household name in Japan and Asia.

The outer frame measures 19 1/2 inches high by 19 1/2 inches wide and 1 5/8ths inches deep. Kanji character maker's marks metal plate on the back. 

No cracks, dents, gouges, flaking or stains. I find very few light surface scuffs commensurate with light handling, cleaning and storage. The fabric covered mat has some light specks and smudges. Easy to update the fabric mat or frame if you wish in the future.

The inner box framed artwork drops into the frame from the rear and has multiple lever closures for a tight seal.
