This picture is made of dyed koto, stained walnut,
dyed birds eye maple, cherry, maple, tineo and dyed poplar.
Marquetry
is an art of creating decorative designs by careful selection and
cutting of wood veneer to fit precisely together on a single sheet.
This work is inspired by the Pietra dura (florentine mosaic) which commenced in the 18th century.
