I’m offering unique items out of my collection – and I’m glad to see that you’re interested in this wonderful item.

The extremely rare original signature of sculptress Louise Bourgeois in this magnificent monograph comes from New York City – and is one of the jewels in my collection. Because I normally only collect autographs that I obtain in-person, I have to mention that I sent this book to Louise Bourgeois' private address (which was also her studio address, as far as I remember) and she (or they) sent the signed book back to my German address a few weeks later. Looking at the signature and given the fact that - even though she was very popular and successful - the amount of "fan mail" sent to people like her was significantly smaller than in most cases today, I have no reason to believe that this is not her original autograph and that someone else might have scribbled her name into my book. I'm absolutely sure that the signature is authentic - and that's why I don't really want to give this jewel away. If there is someone else out here who admires Louise Bourgeois at least as much as I do and who really, really wants to own this volume, however, I will pass it on. The book and the dust jacket in particular show normal signs of handling, storage and age. Nevertheless, the book is in clean and nearly unused/unread condition throughout. It comes from a pet-free/smoke-free environment.

It goes without saying that I will be very accurate and careful preparing and packing this book for you. I will send it insured and registered with a tracking ID. That's obviously more expensive, but worth the investment. The insurance will protect both of us. Because this is a private auction, I do not accept returns.
