SUMMARY:
A very fine  condition silver and niello metal cased, Swiss pocket watch with 15 jewels by Orta, the watch with a stunning green and gold dial. This is a beautifully made keyless-wound pocket watch, made in ca. 1890-1900 for the oriental market. The watch movement of very nice quality with beautifully gilded plates.

 The watch recently cleaned and overhauled by my watch-maker and in good order and keeping excellent time and comes with a two year mechanical warrranty.  It is most unusual indeed to find a silver and niello work pocket watch in such fine condition. 

THE DIAL: 100% mint, the green and gold dial with gold Arabic  numerals and in bright condition with no hairlines or chip. The dial with blue steel moon hands. Diameter is 41 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition. 

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a gilded plates and a silver steel-regulator, and blue steel screws. A uncut two arm bimetallic balance, with hairspring and Swiss lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality and measures 36 mm. The watch ticking away strongly and keeping very good time. The watch with winding from the main crown and also hands set.

THE CASE: 98% mint, the silver and niello case measures an impressive 48 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly and are both hinged. Both of the covers hinge have individual raised thumb pieces for opening the case.  The front and rear covers, with nice finish to edges, top cover with minor loss as shown. The case with Swiss silver hall and dtuy assay marks, with inscription to inner cuvette for P.A.Abbot.

THE NIELLO WORK: 95% mint, The niello work in excellent condition, showing minor loss aroudn top covr bezel edge and still in bright and fresh condition.
