These can get damaged from heat and just years of use, so if in doubt best to change them out for good clutch grip, oh while you're there, it's a good idea to check your clutch springs and also your clutch bearing too.

Greasing the clutch bearing with General Purpose or Multi Purpose Grease while you're at it too will be a good idea
