Description: The small audience at the Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 5, 1959 saw a true spectacle as Bob Pettit of the St. Louis Hawks scored his 2002 point to set a new single season record.  Bob Pettit ended up with 2105 points for the season and it held up until Wilt Chamberlain entered the league.


This program is scored and scored correctly for both games of the doubleheader and Bob Pettit’s record as well as Paul Arizin’s 42-Point game are both noted in pencil.  In the first game where Bob Pettit set the record, his St. Louis Hawks fell to the Philadelphia Warriors 106-101.  In the second game, the Minneapolis Lakers dispatched the New York Knicks (then the Knickerbockers) 135-115.

One of the most significant basketball programs and ticket stubs from the post-World War II era up until Wilt Chamberlain began to play.  The ticket stub in particular may well be the only one which still exists.
