This Indonesia 500 Rupiah banknote is dated 1992/1998. The banknote's obverse side depicts an Orangutan ape sitting on a tree branch and the national emblem. The reverse side features a traditional stilt house in East Kalimantan, on Borneo Island. The note does not contain any security threads however placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of Indonesian Nationalist leader Hadji Oemar Said Tjokroaminoto.
