Listed Spanish-born, French Artist Louis Brunel Signed, on lower right, this Tender, Mother & Child in Landscape. It is an Original Oil on Canvas c. 1900's - 20's. A plaque, with the artist's name and the Title - "Shelter", is on the lower center of the frame. The piece depicts a young mother, getting ready to breastfeed her baby, behind the privacy of a makeshift tent, hanging from the branches. Rich, Warm tones match the Poignant subject matter. 

3" Wide, Gilt, 2 piece wood scoop moulding is included in this listing. It is likely that the frame is original to the piece.

Canvas measures 17 X 21 and is in Very Good Antique condition. It is heavily varnished and quite reflective and appears a little darker in person. There is also craquelure (tiny network of cracks in paint surface or varnish) throughout, confirming it's early 1900's age. There is also a patch repair, on reverse, see last image, that was done so long ago that the patina matches the canvas!

Outside measure of the frame is 22 X 26 and is in Good Antique condition w/ signs of handling and repainted damage on inner lip.
