A 1920”s binder of Seth Seiders Constructive talks to Pivot Men (upper management) for the Weston Dodson & Company Anthracite and Bituminous Coal Bethlehem PA.
The opening page is signed & dated 1924 letter, from the President Dodson explaining this subscription for his managers. This book consists of assorted letters & Monthly Digest subscription to this “Pivot Men” course with elaborate suggestions for running their teams/departments etc.
He endorses that his managers read and apply quoting “ no man lives long enough to learn everything, and many times a man is vexed by a problem which someone else has solved.”
( see this letter above in my photo). Reading a few excerpts from this book, proves that much of the advice applies today.
Pages are not numbered (volume is 1 1/2” thick). Heavy, metal button bound. Cover is in fair condition as shown. Book was owned by Chas. G. Schantz Fuel Engineer and he has his name at the top in ink. Pages have yellowed with age, there will be some dates on papers as to when they were read, I believe.
All pages legible, assorted wear, no mildew or smoking odors.
