The benefits of upgrading an automatic transmission with a deep tranny pan has been widely popular for years, but why not manual transmissions? The benefits are easily the same, if not more, and fortunately, Fast Coolers has you covered with a line of coolers that merely replace the stock PTO covers for added fluid capacity and case rigidity.
Extend the PTO provision of your manual transmission with heat dissipating aluminum and add 1 quart of lubricant per cooler (one side). The aluminum covers can also be upgraded with the optional sight glass and add further rigidity. Otherwise, save some money and reuse your stock steel cover plate.
WHY FAST COOLERS?
A manual transmission creates more heat in overdrive, similar to an automatic in overdrive. That is one reason why automatics sometimes have a tow/haul button. Temperatures are often 30 degrees higher when towing in overdrive. Fast Coolers reduce the temperatures by 30 degrees with heat dissipating aluminum and 40 to 50% more oil capacity Just bolt it on and add more lubricant.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please confirm your exhaust clearance to PTO covers before ordering. You will need at least 3" of clearance between your existing PTO cover for adequate clearance.
- G56 manual transmissions (2005.5+ Cummins) will require the additional hardware kit available from the menu
What Do Fast Coolers Fit?
They fit all 6 bolt SAE PTO covers. These 6 bolt covers started in 1932 and have the same bolt pattern today. They are standard on all Dodge, Ford, GM and any other medium to heavy duty trucks. They are mostly recommended for manual transmissions as they have no way of circulating the oil.
If you're still not sure if it will work for you, just check if your manual transmission has one or two 6 bolt PTO covers. If it has 2 PTO covers, (one on each side) you can order the #2fc300. If you only have one PTO cover, you can order the
#1fc300.
