For sale is a 45 RPM vinyl single from Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps titled "Be-Bop-A-Lula b/w Woman Love", originally released in 1956 by Capitol Records. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve, then into a storage box for seven inch 45 RPM vinyl records, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity until today. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is machine stamped a silhouette of the U.S. Capitol, followed by the matrix numbers D-8/D-7, indicating that early stampers were used to make this record at Capitol Records' pressing plant located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. There is a sticker on the A-Side label. The vinyl is visually graded as Good Plus because of sleeve marks and hairline surface scratches, none of which can be felt with a fingertip. I'm play grading this record as Good Plus because of occasional ticking on Side Two, along with surface noise on both sides, none of which over-powers the vocals or the music. You would be hard pressed to find a copy of this record in this condition, especially an original Scranton pressing. This would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection. I always pack the items for sale in an archival inner sleeve, then put them in either a Kraft paper bubble mailer with sturdy cardboards or cardboard record mailers, always with the records separate from the jackets or its original picture sleeve, then sandwiched between sturdy cardboards before shipping.
