The Honduras 2 Lempira banknote from 2014 is part of the 2012 - 2016 series. Its front design bears the national emblem and a portrait of former President Marco Aurelio Soto, a liberal leader responsible for the establishment of the Biblioteca Nacional de Honduras in 1880. The reverse side features a picturesque view of the Tiger Island and the port city of Amapala where Dr. Sotos government was inaugurated. The note is 156 x 67 mm in size and does not contain any security threads nor watermarks.
