Each cloth is handknit and has ridges to dig into floor and grab dirt. The tiny spaces between ridges allow steam to make direct contact with the floor. The cloth gets dirty and your floor gets clean. A winning combination for cleaning!
I have found the OEM cloths that you get with the new steamers are impossible to launder for complete soil removal. See my next to last photo as an example of their poor performance. Moreover these OEM cloths shrink and they don't make good contact with the floor for deep cleaning. My cloths address all these problems and are actually far less expensive over time.
You will get a thorough deep cleaning with this replacement steamer cloth and you can get it completely clean just like new by following my laundering instructions.

Wash in hot water, dry on high heat. They last a long time and even the worst dirt washes out in hot water with Biz or any non-chlorine product.
OEM pads don't wash clean and DON'T Allow steam to make direct contact with the floor. My pads allow steam to pass through to floor while the knitted ridges deep- scrub the floor.
Original equipment pads use elastic edges to hold pads onto steamer head. The elastic wears out quickly because of exposure to steam.
My cloths design eliminates elastic in favor or sturdy polyester/ nylon cord tie.
My cloths allow steam to pass through the spaces between knitted stitches directly onto floor. The textured surface sucks up the dirt and then washes clean in the laundering process.

Been making and using mine for many years and some of my replacement cloths are 15+ years old.
When you buy my knitted pads you gain access to all my knowledge about these steamers and cleaning floors in general. Take care not to use these cloths on cement or sharp edges that will cut through the cotton yarn.
If your steamer clips are broken this gives you a solution. The clips are not used to fasten these replacement cloths.
